FT M&A&I in July - overview

That was a busy month (still is since I publish that 26th of July, will add news as well in upcoming week to make it up to date). However, so many things happened that decided to show top 22 moves in FinTech world. Do you want to add something? Did I miss something important?   1. Visa acquires chargebacks tech firm Verifi To combine Visa’s anti-fraud tech with Verifi’s solutions. More.

  2. Visa (again :)) Invests in Crypto Custodian Anchorage. More.

  3. JP Morgan to take stake in 10x Technologies 10x Technologies’ boss is Anthony Jenkins, formerly Barclays head. More.

  4. D3 Banking Technology has found itself a buyer–and it’s a big one. The digital banking services company announced 2nd of July, it has been acquired by ATM giant NCR for an undisclosed amount. More.

  5. PayU acquires Red Dot Payments to expand in South East Asia More.

  6. Naspers (owner of among the others - PayU) invests in Dott More.

  7. Jack Henry and Geezeo are joining forces in an acquisition.

  8. Monex Group acquires 90% of Shiawase Partners Trust. More.

  9. Investment Tech Startup Jacobi Raises $11M. More.

  10. Recko, an Indian startup that enables AI-powered reconciliation of digital transactions, has raised $1M seed funding from Prime Venture Partners. More.

  11. Lightico raises $14.5M to take on DocuSign. More.

  12. Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) has acquired WayPay, a local startup that provides businesses with cloud-based accounts payable automation technology. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. More.

  13. US-based financial infrastructure company Pico has reached an agreement to acquire Irish data analytics vendor Corvil. More.

  14. Australian investment technology platform Jacobi is targeting the UK after securing $11M in funding from a group of Silicon Valley VCs. Illuminate Venture Partners, 8VC and Credit Ease Venture Fund led the funding round for Jacobi, which has built a cloud-based platform for investment portfolio and design. More.

  15. Curve raises $55M for mobile payment app that combines multiple bank cards. More.

  16. Raisin picks up $28M backing from Goldman Sachs for its savings and investment marketplace. More.

  17. Atom Bank raises £50M in a fundraising round with participation from BBVA, Toscafund, Woodford Patient Capital Trust and funds advised by Perscitus LLP. More.

  18. Fintech startup N26 is raising $170 million a few months after raising $300M.

  19. Singapore's soCash raises $6 million to convert retail stores into virtual branches. More.

  20. Robinhood Is Worth $7.6 Billion After New Funding Round ($323M). More.

  21. Moody's acquires Risk First. More

  22. Payconiq raises E20M. Funding round was stumped up by Payconiq's existing bank shareholders. More. Edit 31st of July:

  23. SoftBank Group Corp has secured pledges from Microsoft Corp and other investors of around $108 billion for a second Vision Fund aimed at investing in technology firms. More.

  24. DataRobot raises $200 million for AI software development - sources and gets a Unicorn status! More.

  25. Microsofts acquires BlueTalon to bolster data governance offerings. More.

  26. Not exactly FinTech but can't ignore. Takeaway buys JustEat for $10B. More.

  27. Fiserv completes acquisition of First Data (The merger was first announced in January 2019). More.
