Autenti unites polish banks in a joint investment of £3.4M :)
Polish banks band together to invest in digital signature fintech Autenti!
Alior Bank, BNP Paribas and PKO Bank Polski – banks representing approximately 30 per cent of assets in the Polish banking sector – have invested together in Autenti, a Polish fintech which offers a platform for electronic signing and digital document workflow.
The joint investment of £3.4 million is aimed at developing a Polish standard for electronic signatures in bank documents.
Przemek Gdański, CEO of BNP Paribas Bank, says:
"The development of paperless e-transactions is not just about convenience and security for clients. Tangible positive impact on the environment is also of extreme importance to us. Along with our partners, we wish to set and promote new standards within the Polish banking sector."
With numerous banking-related processes still requiring signature on paper, the expectation is that the joint investment will speed up the introduction of digitalized workflow, enabling the banks to make progress on their digital transformation strategies.
Zbigniew Jagiełło, CEO of PKO Bank Polski, says:
“Clients using services offered on the Polish market expect that the remote conclusion of agreements will become even simpler and quicker, and - at the same time - safe. The cooperation of banks - which compete with one another on a daily basis - may help meeting these expectations."
As we can read on Autenti LinkedIn profile, the deal didn't happen overnight, and the whole team was working on it for a long time.
"Finally we can proudly announce what we have been working on so long lately. Three Polish banks - PKO Bank Polski, Alior Bank SA and BNP Paribas Bank Polska have invested in #Autenti. Together, across divisions. A symbolic agreement between the bank presidents was signed - online of course. :)

Huge congratulation to the whole team and to Grzegorz, with who I had a chance to work with long time ago, while in PayU. Well deserved success and dear Autenti team - do not stop now, expand and build the company, I can see Unicorn status on the horizon!
